Where do blocks come from? On the subconscious and beliefs

You want change, you know what to do, and yet something holds you back. You put off an important decision, pull back at the last moment or sabotage what matters to you. It is not laziness or lack of motivation. Very often it is deeply stored beliefs working in the background.

How are beliefs formed?

Most of them take shape early, before we can even name them. The words we heard as children, the atmosphere at home, our first failures and how others reacted to them: from all of this the mind builds a map of the world. “I have to earn love.” “Don’t stand out.” “Others matter more.” Once, these rules may have protected us. Today they often simply limit us.

How to recognise a block

  • You keep repeating similar situations, even though the people and circumstances change.
  • Your reaction is stronger than the situation calls for.
  • Logically you know “it makes no sense”, but emotionally you still feel it.
  • When you get close to something you want, tension, fear or tiredness appears.

Why knowledge alone is not enough

Because beliefs do not live in the analytical part of the mind. You may understand your story perfectly, and your body will still react the old way. That is why it matters to work on both levels: the conscious one, where you learn to notice and choose, and the subconscious one, where those beliefs were stored.

How I work with blocks

In hypnosis it is easier to reach the source of a belief: the moment it appeared and the need it once protected. Once we understand it, we can rewrite it into a new, supportive one. Neurohacking and exercises between sessions help anchor the change in your everyday reactions.

A block is not a flaw. It is an old survival strategy that has done its job and can now leave.

Start with a simple exercise: finish the sentence “I can’t…, because…” and ask yourself whose voice you are hearing.
